DMK releases list of candidates for April 6 polls, Stalin to fight from Kolathur, son to make debut | India News

CHENNAI: DMK President MK Stalin will try his luck again in the parliamentary elections in Tamil Nadu on April 6th from the Kolathur constituency in the city, while his son Udhayanidhi will make his electoral debut by being from the Chepauk-Triplicane segment in the metropolis occurs.
Stalin published the list of all 173 candidates for the election and kept most of the seated MLAs, including seniors Durai Murugan, KN Nehru, K Ponmudi and MRK Panneerselvam – all of whom were former ministers, among others.
At a press conference at DMK headquarters Anna Arivalayam, Stalin said he would submit the nomination, which began on Friday in the constituency, on March 15 and begin the next stage of the campaign.
The DMK, which has not been in power since 2011, is aiming for a comeback by dethroning the ruling AIADMK. She has put together a rainbow coalition of Congress, Leftists, MDMK, VCK and other minor outfits and allotted them a total of 61 of the 234 seats at the game.
As many of the parties, including the MDMK, will fight for DMK’s rising sun symbol, the main partner will be effective in the fight in 187 seats, Stalin added
