Eternals Final Trailer Released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam

The Eternals trailer is now available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam – known to Marvel fans as the “final trailer” – almost two months after its English-language premiere. This effectively means that the Eternals teaser trailer released in May will not receive any Indian language versions. The schedule for the Eternals trailer release suggests a different approach to marketing the next Marvel movie. Contrary to what Disney India did with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, where local dubbed versions of both the teaser trailer and the final trailer were released just three days apart. I imagine the studio didn’t see much value in it.

Of course, the Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam versions of the Eternals trailer are identical to the English-language original version from August. It was called “final trailer” back then, but here it is called “official trailer”. It starts with Ajak (Salma Hayek) addressing the events of Avengers: Endgame and how that leads to “showing up”. Sersi (Gemma Chan) shares her 7,000-year-old background while boyfriend Dane Whitman (Kit Harington) wonders why the Eternals didn’t help fight Thanos – or “all the other terrible things in history.” This is because they were instructed not to interfere unless the dissenters were involved.

Speaking of which, the Deviants are back and everywhere. Ikaris (Richard Madden) sets out to bring the Eternals back together, each of whom has gone their own way in these 7,000 years. The Eternals trailer gives us a glimpse into the great superhero cast of the Marvel movie, including Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani), Sprite (Lia McHugh), Phastos (Brian Tyree Henry), Makkari (Lauren Ridloff), Druig (Barry Keoghan) , Gilgamesh (Don Lee) and Thena (Angelina Jolie). Each of them can fall back on cosmic energy, which in turn gives them a variety of superpowers, be it empathy (Sersi), flight and cosmic rays (Ikaris), energy projectiles (Kingo) or super speed (Makkari).

Behind the scenes, Nomadland’s Oscar-winning filmmaker Chloé Zhao directs Eternals. Zhao is also mentioned on the Eternals script, which went through several drafts, first with Ryan Firpo and Matthew K. Firpo, then with Zhao and Patrick Burleigh, and with a final version written entirely by Zhao himself. The camera is from Ben Davis (Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel). Craig Wood (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Dylan Tichenor (Zero Dark Thirty) are the editors. Ramin Djawadi from Game of Thrones is the composer. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and Marvel Executive Nate Moore served as producers on Eternals.

Eternals will be released in India on November 5th – one day after Diwali – in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
