LONDON: The Indian cricket team will play six white ball games against England next July, the England and Wales Cricket Board announced at the launch of their international home games for 2022.
The Indian team are currently playing a five-test series against England, with the final game scheduled to begin on September 10th.
However, unlike other years, India’s red and white ball series were split due to the length of the tours during times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The English men will play all their white ball home games against India in July, followed by South Africa.
According to the schedule published by the ECB, India will start the T20 International series at Old Trafford on July 1st, before the games at Trent Bridge (July 3rd) and the Ageas Bowl (July 6th).
A three-game ODI series follows with games at Edgbaston (July 9th), the Oval (July 12th) and Lord’s (July 14th).
The English men start their home summer 2022 with a test series of three games against world champions New Zealand.
Joe Root’s test team will begin their streak against the Black Caps at Lord’s on June 2nd before moving to Trent Bridge (June 10-14) and Emerald Headingley (June 23-27).
ECB chief Tom Harrison said: “It’s been a dazzling summer of cricket and it’s so nice to see the crowds pack the venues again later that summer.
“For next summer I am delighted to be able to confirm three top-class international touring teams for men for 2022, starting with an LV = Insurance Series with three tests against test world champions New Zealand.
“We are also looking forward to India returning for two white ball series before we host South Africa for a highly competitive series in three formats, including three test matches,” he added.
